Les « 16 journées d’action contre les violences faites aux femmes » sont une campagne internationale qui a lieu chaque année, du 25 novembre (Journée internationale de l’élimination de la violence à l’égard des femmes) au 10 décembre (journée des droits humains) et permet d’agir de manière stratégique et globale pour la prévention et l’élimination de la violence à l’encontre des femmes et des filles.
À cette occasion, chaque année, le Soroptimist International Union Suisse contribue à donner l’exemple en matière de lutte contre la violence à l’égard des femmes en organisant un grand nombre de manifestations et de campagnes d’éclairage.
A l’initiative du SI Club de Lausanne, la Municipalité de Lausanne a accepté d’intégrer dans son calendrier des illuminations la date du 25 novembre et d’éclairer depuis 2017 chaque année en orange Pierre-de-Plan et la Place de la Navigation.
Le 25 novembre prochain, Lausanne sera à nouveau orangée afin de contribuer à donner un éclairage local à cette campagne internationale et nationale.

Le « Swiss Soroptimist Day » a lieu chaque année dans toute la Suisse en principe le premier samedi du mois en lien avec le 8 mars Journée internationale des femmes. Il vise à soutenir un projet de l’Union suisse ou un projet choisi par notre club.
